We are regularly approached by people who are actually looking for CV and career advice rather than the services of a recruiter, and sometimes candidates need lots of help with their CV. This is actually beyond our usual day to day remit – we are paid by our clients to find candidates for their roles and to source the right people and whilst we’d love to help with more career and CV advice, that’s not commercially viable or the best use of our time as super busy recruiters.
We do regularly run a CV and LinkedIn Workshop for marketing, PR, creative and digital professionals. The next one is on the 25th March, in Bristol – do take a look and book a place if you’d like to come.

In this workshop Liz Gadd, Co-Founder and Recruiter at Moxie and Mettle, will share with you useful hints and tips gained through 30 years experience placing freelance and permanent marketing, PR, creative and digital professionals.
Liz looks at CVs, LinkedIn, direct approaches, and offers general hints and tips about how to get the right work for you. It’s real-world career advice with plenty of knowledge to share about what it’s really like and what really works in finding freelance work with clients and new permanent or contract job opportunities.
You’ll also learn how to create a perfect 10-second introduction when talking to prospective clients and new potential employers.

This workshop will take place on Wednesday 25th March 2020 at The Ivy in Clifton, Bristol – 8.30 am for a 9.00 am start, finishing around 11.30 am. Tickets are £25.00 each, and include tea/coffee and breakfast pastries at The Ivy.
The entire fee for this workshop goes to The 401 Challenge, to help the amazing Ben Smith raise the funds for the USA Challenge. Ben will be running 50 marathons across 50 states in the USA, cycling between each one and all this in 104 days! During this epic challenge, with the help of schools, organisations and individuals all around the UK and further afield, Ben is aiming to raise £1million for two charities – The 401 Foundation and the Youth Sport Trust, supporting their work which uses physical activity to improve young people’s mental health and wellbeing. Previously, Ben ran 401 marathons in 401 days, finishing in October 2016 and raising over £330k for anti-bullying and mental health charities. Ben was recognised after his 401 Challenge and awarded many accolades including Pride of Britain and BBC Sports Personality Helen Rollason Award in 2016; you can see his story here BBC Sports Personality. We are recruiting two PR Managers and two Content Creators. These are voluntary positions, with travel, accommodation and food provided by the 401 Challenge. We are looking to fill these roles in several ways;
to hire two people for each role who are able and willing to give up their time in return for the most amazing opportunity to get involved with the project over in the USA during the Challenge
to find a business who will “sponsor’ the positions, perhaps by allowing the time for their team member to travel over to the USA (or maybe they are already in the USA) and take up one of the positions
by spreading the word about these opportunities far and wide, with the help of all our colleagues, clients, candidates and connections
We have a dedicated PR and media relations team who will be maximising every possible opportunity to create national and international publicity, both in the US and the UK, around the Challenge and its sponsors and partners. Brands and businesses who join us from the outset will be featured in all our media activity, programmes, events, on the websites and on social media, so the potential for newspaper, radio and TV coverage around the Challenge, and those associated with it, is huge.
And of course the benefits for young people through the work of The 401 Foundation are powerful and hugely beneficial; it really is the most amazing charity and does really great work!
