Our client has an exciting opportunity for a Membership Manager within their team.
This role is all about shaping the strategic direction of the network, enhancing member experiences, and expanding their reach. If you're passionate about making a difference and ready to take on a pivotal role, keep reading.
Role Purpose
As the Membership Manager, the mission is clear: manage the strategic direction and operational delivery of the organisation. You’ll ensure an outstanding member experience at all levels and align the network's growth with their overarching strategy. This role focuses on expanding the network's membership and enhancing its visibility.
Key Responsibilities
Membership Growth: You will spearhead the expansion of the network's membership in alignment with the organisational strategy. This includes developing a compelling member offer, crafting prospect touchpoints, streamlining onboarding processes. As well as creating an engaging new member journey, and implementing a member-get-member program.
Building the Network's Profile: Elevating the network's visibility is crucial. You will achieve this through consistent brand visuals and messaging, strategic stakeholder and event mapping. As well as targeted outreach efforts, member presentation packs, and support for key speakers and advocates. Tracking member activities and developing peer-to-peer case studies and content will also be part of their strategy.
Budget Management: Ensuring responsible budget management is essential to achieving their goals.
Team Leadership: You will provide leadership to central team members, regional coordinators, and freelance suppliers as needed.
Funding Proposal Development: You will be the key point of contact for funding proposal development, ensuring all project documentation and reporting are up-to-date.
What do you need?
Marketing Communications: you must have experience setting strategic directions, planning and managing projects, measuring effectiveness. And optimising plans based on evidence.
Team Management: Previous experience in team management, including line reporting and budget management responsibilities, is essential.
Network Development: Experience in developing member or civil society networks, focusing on member growth and experience. This is super important, to understand how a membership/society works and grows.
Process-Driven: A process-driven mindset with a clear understanding of how it supports organisational scaling.
Inclusivity: An inclusive and positive approach that empowers volunteers and members to play vital roles in a wide range of activities.
Digital-First: A digital-first approach with experience driving efficiency through the implementation of strategies across multiple channels.
Hours of Work
The role covers 3 working days per week, totalling 21.75 hours. The working days are Wednesday to Friday, with occasional unsociable hours (as this is a job share role, you must be able to work Wednesday to Friday).

Moxie and Mettle is a UK-based recruitment company; our clients are based in the UK too. Although many clients offer remote working as an option, there is still a need to regularly visit company offices and clients in the UK. Therefore, applications from overseas are unlikely to be successful, unless applicants already have plans to be in the UK several times a month/year to facilitate meetings with both the teams and clients.
