Summary

A major health charity with a clear and compelling mission has a fabulous opportunity for a media and communications officer to take responsibility for supporting and delivering our media and communications outreach activities.

The role

Day to day, you’ll be running the press office, supporting delivery of media work and helping with the implementation of communications activities and campaigns.

Your skills

Strong written and verbal communications skills and experience of writing for a range of audiences and channels.

Excellent understanding of media tools and tactics, including working in a press office and handling media enquiries.

Experience of writing press releases, features and other content.

Confidence in managing relationships with a huge variety of stakeholders (case study participants, spokespeople for the business, journalists)

Solid understanding of communications channels, both print and digital.

Good working knowledge of digital platforms, including media monitoring portals, website CMS and social media.

Good working knowledge of MS Office including Teams (Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook)

Summary

Super senior communications role to head up a specialist healthcare team for a huge global PR and communications agency. You’ll be working across major pharma accounts, so previous pharma, medical, science experience is crucial.

The goal is to provide strategic advice and guidance to pharma clients to achieve  agreed communication and business objectives.

Responsibilities:

You will be the senior client point of contact, accountable for overall profitability, quality, relationship, and client satisfaction, working in tandem with a number of EMEA teams to best serve all the clients across offices, time zones.

Strategy lead, spearheading planning and implementation of pharma/medical plans.

Accountable for monthly forecast and communication on business and personnel topics with London leadership

You’ll lead PR and Comms teams and oversee the development and execution of high-quality communications programmes; map, lead and contribute to organic customer growth and the acquisition of new business.

You’ll be mentoring, coaching, and leading a team, including your three direct reports at account director level.

What you’ll need:

Pharma experience is ESSENTIAL!

Your experience at a senior communications level could be from PR agency or client-side, but must include a high level of knowledge in both strategy and planning for healthcare brands, crisis communications, general PR and corporate communications at all levels.

The role can be almost fully remote if required but you’d need to visit the Devon office once a month, this is a truly flexible opportunity where full and part-time can be considered.

It’s a superb career opportunity for someone looking to step up into a senior Account Director role and in time, start to take over the running of the agency; you’ll be the future of the business!

You’re probably a Senior Account Manager or Account Director and have either a solid PR agency or digital marketing background, ideally with a B2B background.

You’ll be looking after PR, organic and paid for digital marketing.

You may wish to develop your leadership skills and enhance your decision-making responsibilities that will make an impact on the agency from the get-go or a few years down the line, after you’ve been mentored.   You’ll certainly be seeking the autonomy that comes from leading a highly ambitious agency.

As with any senior role in an agency, you’ll need to think about business development and how to grow the business both in terms of revenue and size of the team.

The role:

A newly created Part-time Marketing Manager job with flexible hours and day to suit but cover over four days would be preferred.  You’ll be joining a small friendly team of ten with a great culture; the business are champions of creating a culture that encourages a healthy work-life balance, with a policy of offering as much flexibility as possible.  It’s an all-hands-on deck kinda team, everyone works together to ensure they are effective as possible.

It’s an autonomous role where you’ll be given freedom to share your ideas and encouraged to run with them and really own the role.

The aim:

  • To raise the profile and awareness of the agency to new clients:-
  • Create, manage and implement the marketing strategy by working closely with the MD
  • Analyse data and findings from campaigns to assess and feedback what works and what doesn’t
  • Manage the social media campaigns and posts
  • Manage website content and the re-brand/build
  • Networking at events
  • Create webinars and round table events for the MD to host
  • Respond to incoming enquires and leads
  • Create and send out proposals
  • Research/identify new clients
  • Look at SEO and CRM

What you need:

  • Ideally you’ll have been in a standalone marketing role with a SME
  • Be a people person who enjoys engaging with others
  • An understanding of copywriting, content would be useful as would any agency experience.
