PA to surgeon – Bristol

PA and Private Clinic Manager required, to be based in North Bristol.

A hugely important PA role supporting a surgeon, it’s a busy and varied role, including scheduling appointments, managing diaries, and handling correspondence, helping with travel arrangements, patient records, ensuring patient enquiries are handled promptly and efficiently and other administrative tasks both for the business and private life.

There is a need for an element of flexibility, occasionally being available during unsociable hours to support the surgeon with any immediate or urgent tasks.

About you:

  • You’ll have previous PA experience, ideally from a private healthcare
  • Experience of being a surgeons/consultants PA/Secretary is preferred.
  • Excelling typing and IT skills
  • Superb organisation, independent decision making and ability to work under pressure

 

Duties:

  • Book appointments, including consulting rooms and meetings, theatre space.
  • Obtain feedback from patients and provide this in report format to the surgeon, addressing any negative feedback immediately and liaising with the surgeon for positive solution
  • Obtain annual insurance quotes
  • Ensure surgeons professional registration with the GMC and other affiliated bodies is maintained and continuously ready for appraisal and revalidation
  • Respond to emails and post, and may act as the first point of contact for patients and staff as a barrier to the surgeon
  • Arrange travel, visas, and accommodations for the surgeon
  • Organise and attend meetings, and ensure the surgeon is well prepared
  • Typing notes from dictations, including medical reports
