We are looking for a superb and ambitious PR Account Executive for our great friends over at Purplefish at the Paintworks in Bristol
In summary, you will be assisting with all social media and online marketing for a range of b2b, b2c and charity clients.You will support the account management team in implementing PR campaign activities, through telephone and internet-based research communication. You need to be entirely comfortable generating content to be used on social media networks and happy to get involved in general office/agency support.
Your key skills include:
Copywriting – good spelling, grammar and proof-reading ability
Creativity – creative flair for communications and content creation
Excellent interpersonal skills including a natural ability to build relationships with different people including media, clients, influencers across a range of sectors and accounts
Superb presentation skills with the ability to explain ideas to the team and present stories to journalists – it is super important to be able to present confidently

Genuine media and news interest
Good telephone manner – positive, friendly and upbeat tone for calls with clients and journalists •Good organisational skills – ability to work efficiently and to deadlines

As an Account Executive in this amazing, forward thinking agency, it will be your responsibility to be a key driver of results across your client accounts, through the execution of communication strategies and activities You’ll be expected to have regular contact with key spokespeople and clients, and you must regularly demonstrate that you know their key media inside out and are always watching the news agenda.
What you’ll be doing
Day to day you will be working on media relations, meeting journalists and developing your contacts and relationships, as well as flagging opportunities to the team and clients.
You’ll take part in formal ‘sell in’s’ of news stories and features to the media.You’ll report on your coverage and draft weekly and monthly reports, as well as continuously planning the next campaign, idea, project.You’ll spend a lot of time writing – emails, news releases, case studies, articles, social media copy, proposals, presentations, and you’ll use your natural creativity to bring new ideas for story pitches and creative campaigns.
Comfortable with client relationships, you’ll take pride in getting to know your clients companies and brands, and take an active role in weekly calls and monthly meetings whilst taking notes of all points and actions.You will also be researching clients for new business proposals.
The team are a social and creative bunch, and highly motivated and lively, so you’ll need lots of energy.You’ll probably be a natural networker, and certainly have an inquisitive mind.

The agency generates, produces and delivers top quality news stories, pictures, videos, visual puzzles and animated infographics to the national news media and beyond.
With a client list that includes a string of huge global brands, as well as some of the biggest names on PR Week’s Top 150, you’ll be in good company.
The role will involve overseeing projects for clients from the idea stage to the subsequent issue to the national news media.
The successful candidate will join brainstorms, talk clients through ideas, write up ideas, compile survey questions, write tight, engaging news copy and attend meetings with sales staff from time to time.
They will also liaise with the digital, design and social teams to ensure projects run seamlessly.
Who you are:
The successful candidate will have your finger on the pulse of popular culture and the current news agenda in social, national and international news as well as TV and radio.
You will be confident, organised, efficient and meticulous.
You will also be brimming with great ideas and have the ability to juggle projects while dipping in and out of emails and taking and making calls.
The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years’ experience in PR or journalism, and will thrive in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
You will quite possibly be currently working for a PR agency looking to take a step up to the next level, or could even be on a local or national news publication looking for a move and a change.
